LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Six armed rebels and a moneychanger have been killed in separate incidents of violence in southern Helmand province, official said on Tuesday.
Three militants were killed by the explosives they were planting in THE Qari Sadi area of Marja district, police spokesman, Col. Abdul Ahad Chopan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said three more fighters were killed and five others injured following an overnight gunbattle with police in Sra Khakh and Gonbad areas of Greshk district.
The police spokesman added 45 landmines, a Kalashnikov and 100 kilograms of hashish were also recovered by police.
Separately, a moneychanger was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Sapia area of the provincial capital last evening. The victim was identified as Mohibullah.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, the Taliban spokesman, said six security personnel were killed by fighters in the Yakhchal area of Nahr-i-Saraj district, a claim rejected by local officials.
