KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Afghanistaninfo-icon under-19 cricketers have trounced the Punjab University in a friendly match in Lahore as part of preparations for the ICC U-19 Worldinfo-icon Cup, an official said on Wednesday.

Asked to bat in the one-day encounter, the visitors posted a formidable total of 260 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 44 overs, the Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman said.

The rivals succumbed to Afghanistan’s fierce bowling attack and were bundled out for 161 runs, handing Afghanistan an emphatic 99-run win, Hotak said.

Sharafuddin Ashraf dismissed five opposition players, with Abdullah Adil and Shahid taking two wickets apiece. It was Afghanistan’s third consecutive triumph during the ongoing tour.
