KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Two civilians were killed and six others wounded in a suicide attack in the Khanabad district of northern Kunduz province on Saturday, officials said.
A vehicle carrying policemen, the apparent target, was damaged as a result of the bombing in Mohibullah Khan area, the deputy police chief of the province said.
Col. Ibadullah Talwar told Pajhwok Afghan News the men were passing through the area in a car when the bomber struck.
Police spokesman Syed Sarwar Hussaini said policemen had suffered no casualties in the attack. He added the bomber detonated his explosives-rigged motorbike near the pick-up at around 11am. All victims were civilians.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which was confirmed by Hayatullah Amiri — the Khanabad district’s administrative head.
