KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): The Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department on Wednesday said 140 development projects would be completed by the end of the current solar year in four districts of southeastern Khost province.
Director Mohammad Usman Mehdi, presenting the department’s annual report, said many of the projects initiated under the Stability in Key Areas (SIKA) programme had been executed.
“Under the SIKA programme currently underway in the four districts, 35 projects suggested by locals will be implemented before March 21,” he said.
Mehdi added another 327 schemes worth 296 million afghanis had been implemented so far in Khost City and districts under the National Solidarity Programme (NSP) over the past few years.
Of the projects under the NSP, 61 were during the current solar year, he said.
Khost Agriculture and Livestock Director Dr. Naqibullah said his department had implemented six projects this year, with another 23 being completed.
