KABUL, a report said on Friday.

Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar issued the orders at a meeting of federal government organisations’ representatives to review the implementation status of the projects.

and Forty-nine decisions taken during the 8th session of the Pak-Afghan Joint Economic Commission were reviewed. The release of additional funds for Pakistan’s  ongoing projects in Afghanistan has already been announced by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

A statement from the Ministry of Finance in Islamabad said Dar asked all stakeholders to clearly draw a roadmap and timelines agreed between the relevant authorities.

All federal government organisations should ensure implementation of bilaterally agreed projects in Afghanistan expeditiously, he stressed.

The meeting reviewed the update on Torkham-Jalalabad Carriageway, Chaman-Spin Boldak railway line and more educational scholarships for Afghan students.

Power import transmission lines from Central Asia through Afghanistan to Pakistan and visa facilitation for citizens/workers on development projects in two countries were also discussed.
