On February 17, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban said it had executed 23 FC personnel, who have been held captive since 2010. The soldiers were killed in retaliation for continued security operations.
Pakistan’s Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz subsequently conveyed a protest to Foreign Minister Zarar Ahmad Osmani in the Maldives, where they were attending a SAARC meeting.
A statement from MoI said the ministry said it had found no evidence substantiating the allegation after an investigation into the matter.
“Afghan National Police Force will not allow any terrorist group to operate inside Afghanistan. Our security forces are ready to further investigate if the Pakistan government provides us any evidence,” it added.
