BRUSSELS (Pajhwok): NATO and America failed to conclude a security pact.

While addressing a meeting in Brussels, the alliance spokeswoman Oana Lungescu told Afghan journalists the NATO defence ministerial conference would discuss the consequences of delay in approval of the Bilateral Security Agreement.

The Feb. 28 conference in Brussels would discuss topics about NATO on the first day and talks on Afghanistan affairs would take place on the second day.

Oana said the conference would also discuss about NATO’s training mission, support of Afghan forces and consequences of delaying the BSA.

About the SOFA, Oana said: “Negotiations over agreement between Afghanistan and NATO have been productive, but the agreement would be not signed as long as the BSA remains unsigned between Afghanistan and America.”

Oana added NATO officials would also discuss with the Afghan defense minister preparations for the April 5 election. “The international community supports the election in a transparent and safe environment,” she concluded.
