TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Ten people were killed and 40 others wounded on Tuesday evening when a suicide bomber struck at a hotel in the capital of the central Uruzgan province, officials said.
Police official Gul Agha told Pajhwok Afghan News a number of people were killed and wounded in the powerful car bombing that ripped through the crowded hotel in Tirinkot.
Dr. Izzatullah confirmed seven dead bodies and 37 injured people had been brought to Uruzgan Civil Hospital from the site. Most of the injured were in critical condition, he added.
Both officials indicated the death toll could go up, saying several injured were struggling for life. Rescuers including security personnel rushed to the site and pulled out the victims.
But Ministry of Interior says 10 people killed and 40 others injured in this incident.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but government officials often blame Afghanistan for such attacks.
