KABUL (Pajhwok): Three children died and four others were injured when their house collapsed due to heavy rains in Kabul, an official said on Monday.
The overnight incident took place in the 10th police district, the town’s police chief, Col Najibullah Samsor, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said many residents of the district had suffered losses due to the heavy rainfall. Some people had left their houses and were living in school buildings, he added.
The rain had flooded roads and streets, causing serious traffic problems, Samsor said.
Many residents complain about lack of a proper drainage system, but the Kabul municipality spokesman, Abdul Qadir Arzo, called rains a natural phenomenon. He said people in other countries faced similar problems.
