KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday promised he would promote seminaries and expedite refugees’ repatriation if he won the April 5 ballot.
Speaking to thousands of his supporters in southern Kandahar province, Abdullah said he would focus on religious schools so that Afghans get Islamic education at home instead of going to neighbouring countries.
He alleged the Afghans pursuing Islamic education abroad were being misguided into fanning the flames of extremism and violence in the country.
Referring to his refugees’ repatriation plan, he claimed having an inclusive plan to bring back the Afghans to their motherland in a respectable. He also promised steps to ensure smooth electricity supply to Kandahar City.
His running mate, Eng. Mohammad Khan, said he was pleased to see such a huge gathering — a sign of national unity. He urged the participants to support his team for the sake of peace and stability in the country.
