Senator’s bodyguard gunned down

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen on a motorbike on Sunday shot dead a personal bodyguard of Senator Gul Ahmad Azami, candidate for the provincial council.

Azami told Pajhwok Afghan News the assailants gunned down Mohammad Jawad, his guard, in the afternoon in front of his campaign office in the first police district of Farah City.  

Calling the attackers enemies of democracy, he said the gunmen fled the scene after perpetrating the crime.

Deputy Governor Mohammad Younus Rasuli, confirming the killing of Jawad, said the attackers snatched the guard’s weapon and fled to an undisclosed direction.
