TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Militants wearing Afghan National Army (ANA) uniforms stormed a home in central Uruzgan province, killing one male member and injuring another before gang-raping women, officials said Monday.
Administrative heads of Chinartu and Khas Uruzgan districts said residents had complained about the inhuman act purportedly committed by militants.
Malim Faiz Mohammad, the Chinartu district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News dozens of locals had visited him to register complaints over the dastardly act. He said the victims’ home is located between Chinartu and Khas Uruzgan districts.
While offering resistance, militants gunned down one man and wounded another. After that, the militants started abusing their women, the district chief added.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rahim, Khas Uruzgan district chief, said a group of locals visited him in his office to register complain against the incident.
The locals demanded immediate arrest of individuals involved in the gruesome incident, he added.
Brig. Gen. Mohammad Rassoul, an ANA commander in Uruzgan province, said he heard about the incident and appointed a team to investigate the issue.
The detail of investigation would be made public, he concluded.
