5 Ghazni polling stations under attack

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Clashes were ongoing as insurgents attacked five polling stations in Andar and Deh Yak districts of southern Ghazni province on Saturday, an official said.

Two attackers were killed as firefights in Laghar and Nazarabad areas of Andar and in Tawpir, Deyak and Sulimanzi areas of Deh Yak continued, the governor’s spokesman said.

Shafiq Nangtold Pajhwok Afghan News the police guarding the polling sites had suffered no casualties, but the sites had been closed. Polling sites in other areas of the province were operational, he added.
