KABUL (Pajhwok): Residents of the Astalif district of Kabul province on Saturday alleged gunmen at polling stations forced voters to cast votes in favour of a particular candidate.

Present on the occasion, a reporter of Pajhwok Afghan News confirmed locals’ claims and said armed men outside the polling site were dictating people whom to vote for.

Qari Syed Mukhtar, a voter, said some gunmen did not allow people to vote according to their choice. Officials at the site were in connivance with the group.

A gunman, Mir Hamidullah, warned reporters to leave the site and not to poke their nose into polling station activities.
