MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor on Saturday hoped for presidential candidate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s victory in the historic polls.
Speaking to journalists at the Fatima Balkhi High School, Noor said Dr. Abdullah had visited many provinces during his election campaign and mustered the support of a large number of people.
But the governor hastened to explain he would accept the victory of any candidate if the vote is not rigged. But he would not accept a result based on rigging. He would not be part of a government elected through fraud.
He lauded the performance of President Hamid Karzai government saying that some flaws were there. He demanded the conduct of free and fair elections.
