KABUL (Pajhwok): Elders from southern Helmand province presented an appreciation letter to President Hamid Karzai in recognition of his services to the nation, the Presidential Palace said on Sunday.
The letter detailing achievements President Karzai made over the past more than a decade was handed over to Karzai by Senator Mullah Sher Mohammad Akhunzada on Saturday, the palace said in a statement.
The appreciation letter mentioned what Karzai had done on national and international levels to rebuild and develop Afghanistan, the statement.
It quoted the letter as calling Karzai’s achievements a historic reality, which could not be ruled out.
It praised Karzai for drawing the international community’s attention to Afghanistan and enabling the country to stand with pride in the comity of nations.
The letter credited Karzai for his efforts to increase Afghanistan’s diplomatic relations with the world.
The letter said Karzai made tireless efforts to bring about peace and stability to the country and his services to the country would be written in golden words on the pages of history.
