MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Bayat Foundation— a charity organization— has donated 27,000 academic books to 16 government universities in parts of the country as part of its sustained assistance to higher education institutions.

Ihsanullah Arianzai, a member of the foundation, while speaking at the Albaironi University in central Parwan province said on Saturday a number of universities in Kabul, Khost, Balkh, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Herat, Baghlan, Kunduz and Badakhshan were also provided with books.

He hoped the move would help bolster the education and learning level of the students who would better serve the country.

Bayat Foundation had been striving to facilitate Afghans one way or the other for years, he said, adding his foundation this time decided to support the vital higher education sector.

Dr. Farid Barnayar, chancellor of Albaironi University, lauded the efforts of the foundation and said availability of variety of books in libraries would bolster learning and knowledge of the students.

Students of the university expressed satisfaction for getting books pertaining to history and contemporary information.
