Shahjoi district chief survives gun attack

KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): Administrative head of Shahjoi district of central Zabul province survived an assassination attempt on Thursday, an official said.

Malik Ali Muhammad, Shahjoi district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News, the incident took place at around 11:00am in the town’s bazaar.

A lone gunman attacked him when he had a meeting in a health clinic in the town to resolve a legal dispute, he added. He and his guards suffered no casualties in the attack.

Police launched investigation into the incident.
