JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The first death anniversary of border police official Qasim Khan, who had killed in Pakistani shelling last year, was observed in Jalalabad on Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Muhammad Zaman Waziri, the commander of 201st Selab Corps in the eastern zone, Brig. Gen. Wali Khan Shinwari, the border police commander, Maj. Muhammad Ayub Hussainkhel, Dr. Lal Muhammad Durrani, provincial council members, and a large number of tribal elders attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Waziri said: “The credit goes to border police who protect the main gate to our homeland. Once someone enters your home, they can do whatever they want to. We are proud of our border police.”

Shinwari, paying rich tributes to the late Qasim Khan, said: “His martyrdom has brought greater unity to the ranks of our security forces.” He said border police and other security forces would defend the motherland till their last drop of blood.
