Families of Uruzgan suicide blast victims compensated

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Families of those killed and wounded in a suicide attack at a hotel in this capital city of central Uruzgan province nearly two and a half months ago were financially assisted on Wednesday.

The blast in Tirinkot left 10 people dead and 37 others wounded. Families of the victims were given the compensation by the provincial governor, Amanullah Taimori, in compliance with a presidential decree.

Taimori told Pajhwok Afghan News each family of those killed was given 100,000 afghanis and 50,000 to those injured.

He said the compensation amounts were distributed to the bereaved families in the presence of a delegation coming all the way from Kabul. He said the total amount was 2.8 million afghanis.

Jan Mohammad, one of the beneficiaries, said his brother was injured in the suicide blast. He said his family was in dire need of the assistance that came to the family in a critical time.
