One dead, 27 injured in Nangarhar grenade attack

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One civilian was killed and 2y others, including children, were wounded in a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province on Friday morning, an official said.

The assailant on a motorbike hurled a hand grenade into a crowd in the Shergarh village of Ghanikhel district at 9am, causing the casualties, including two policemen.

Malim Mashooq, the district’s administrative head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident was currently under investigation. The attacker managed to flee.  

But Dr. Rahman Gul, in charge of the main district hospital, confirmed receiving a dead body and 27 injured people from the blast site. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
