1 policeman dead, 6 injured in accident

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): One border police official was killed and six others were wounded in an accident in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.

The incident took place in the Band Baqarchak area on the Herat-Torghondi highway on Saturday night when a police vehicle veered off the road.

Zonal Hospital spokesman Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai told Pajhwok Afghan News two of the injured were discharged after treatment, while one was in critical condition.
