FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Three people, including two workers of Agha Khan Development Network (AKDN), were killed in a roadside bombing in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said Monday.
The incident took place when the car the workers were traveling in struck a roadside bomb in Wardoj district late Sunday, district chief, Dawlat Khan Khawar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said an agriculture worker of AKDN, the driver and a civilian were killed in the incident.
Director AKDN Dr Najmuddin Najm said it is unclear it was a mine blast or some other kind of accidental blast. The issue is being investigated by the police.
But Lt. Gen. Fazluddin Ayar, provincial police chief, said such incidents were planned by enemies of Afghans and they were out to discourage aid organizations in the country.
