KABUL (Pajhwok): A child was killed and six others, including a police officer and his driver, wounded during an explosion in Pul-i-Charkhi locality of capital Kabul on Thursday morning, an official said.
Brig. Gen. Gul Agha Pacha, crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion took place when a magnet bomb attached to a border police vehicle went off. The incident occurred at 6:30 am, he added.
A police officer and his driver were also among the injured, he said. But director of a private hospital said they received six civilians wounded in the morning blast.
Lajaward Ahmadzai said the child succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
Waris, an eye witness, said police vehicle was traveling on the main road and the bomb exploded when the vehicle reached to a road breaker, he added.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack as of yet.
