GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people rallied in Gardez, the capital of southeastern Paktia province, against Pakistan and Iran, asking for immediate end to attacks from Pakistan into the eastern Kunar province.

The demonstrators were chanting anti-Pakistan and Iran slogans and termed both the countries were playing with the peace of Afghanistan. They alleged Pakistan’s intelligence agencies of training terrorists to disturb the peace and stability in Afghanistan.

Farid Ahmad Taskin, who was leading the protesters, said: “Let’s stand side by side with the Afghan security forces to secure our country. In addition to Pakistan and Iran, intelligence of other countries was active to sabotage peace in Afghanistan. Pakistan wants to misuse Jihad and level ground for Afghans to fight to each other.”

The protesters demanded the international community to help Afghanistan counter Pakistan’s frequent attacks into Kunar, which inflicted heavy men and material losses on Afghans.

Another protester Mir Zaman Gardezi while speaking to fiery demonstrators said Pakistan was the only country training terrorists, which was constantly posing a great threat to the very existence of Afghanistan.
