Gunmen kill university student, mother

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead a girl student along with her mother and wounded two others in the Moqur district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Thursday.

Col. Asadullah Insafi, crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the mother and her daughter died instantly as a result of indiscriminate fire while another female student and the driver of the vehicle they were travelling in suffered injuries.

The students were on their way to their homes, he said, adding with the exception of driver, all the victims were students of Ghazni University, he added. He alleged Taliban were behind the gruesome act but militants yet to comment on the incident.
