Ghor NDS official died in roadside blast

FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): An official of the National Directorate of Security (NDS province on Sunday, Governor Sayyed Anwar Rahmati said.

Talking to Pajhwok Afghan News, he said the incident took place at around 11:00 am in the Band Bain Tunnel on Dolina-Firozkoh road. One police official was also wounded in the explosion, he added.

Crime Branch Chief Col. Abdul Hadi Chalghori said body of the slain NDS deputy chief of Dolina district, Abdul Maroof, had been brought to Firozkoh City in helicopter.

He said militants had planted mines in the area to disrupt the June 14 runoff election. Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
