KABUL Fazlullah and eradicate hideouts in Kunar and Nuristan provinces, a media report said on Friday

Mahmood Khan Achakzai made the request on behalf of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at a meeting with President Hamid Karzai in Kabul on Wednesday, The Express Tribune reported.

Accompanied by Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Achakzai visited Kabul as a special envoy of the prime minister to seek the Karzai administration’s cooperation in fighting terrorism.

Although Achakzai refused to comment on the visit, a government official told the newspaper Pakistan had urged the Karzai government to stop supporting the TTP and extradite its fugitive chief.

The unnamed official claimed Pakistan had compelling evidence of Fazlullah and other TTP commanders enjoying ‘patronage’ of Afghanistan’s intelligence service.

On Thursday night, Karzai telephoned Sharif and discussed the anti-terror cooperation between the neighbours. An Afghan delegation would soon visit Islamabad to carry a special letter from Karzai that would list some proposals.
