KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The electoral commissions’ offices in northern Kunduz province reopened an official said on Monday -- a day after being closed for security reasons.

The Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon) director for Kunduz, Amir Hamza Ahmadzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News the offices were reopened after assurances from security forces in the afternoon.

On Sunday, all election employees were sent home after Dr. Abdullah’s supporters set up a big tent near their offices and denounced the commission workers as fraudsters.

“Security forces assured us today the protest camp will be removed and there will be no threat to us,” Ahmadzai said.
