NATO OKs plan for Afghanistan: Ahmadi

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ershad Ahmadi has called the Brussels meeting important for Afghanistaninfo-icon’s future, saying NATOinfo-icon has evolved a clear plan for the country.

Ex-Afghan diplomat in Brussels Lailuma Sadid, speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, quoted Ahmadi as telling a news conference that NATO’s plan was decisive and important for Afghanistan’s future.

About the election process, Ahmadi said the Independent Election Commission (IECinfo-icon) would announce the final results on schedule and the government was preparing a swearing-in ceremony.

The election bodies should ensure the poll credibility and transparency and the votes of millions of Afghans should be respected, he said.

“Despite security problems and mutilation of voters, the nation has voted to elect its new president,” the deputy minister said, adding NATO and ISAFinfo-icon countries had stressed continued financial support to Afghanistan.
