Police officer, border policeman’s wife gunned down

MAIMANA/ SHIBERGAN (Pajhwok): In two separate incidents, a police officer and wife of border policeman have been killed in northwestern Jawzjan and Faryab provinces, officials said on Thursday.

Operational head of Jawzjan police headquarter told Pajhwok Afghan News that two motorcyclists gunned down police officer Zabihullah in the Zargar Khana village on the outskirt of Shiberghan City, the provincial capital.

Col. Abdul Manan Raufi said cook of provincial peace council was also wounded in the attack who was rushed to a nearby hospital with multiple injuries.

Separately, wife of border policeman was killed by gunmen on the ground that her husband was serving in border police.

Mohammad Zahir Shkampara, border police commander of Ghar Tapa, said the assailant opened fire on Noor Jan’s wife after forcing their way inside the house. Rebels did not stop firing bullets as her mother-in-law yelling throughout.
