ZARANJ (Pajhwok): As many as 140 kilograms of drugs were seized by police in western Nimroz province, an official said Thursday.
The contraband was recovered from a house in Kang district, police chief, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Qasim Jangal Bagh, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
But he said the smugglers were transporting the stuff to neighbouring Iran. The smugglers managed to flee.
Nimroz shares border with Iran, with local officials say drugs are brought from southern province to Nimroz and then smuggled onward to the neighbouring country.
