Radio journalist shot dead in Mazar-i-Sharif

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead an employee of the Lehza Radio Station inside his residence in northern Balkh province on Saturday, an official said.

Sher Jan Durrani, the provincial police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News Khalid Agah Yaqubi was gunned down late in the afternoon. But he had no more details of the incident.

Akhtar Sohail, in charge of the radio station, said that Yaqubi was killed at his home by four gunmen. He asked the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the killers to justice.
