KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Edible and non-edible items were distributed on Sunday to 3,000 more families displaced from Pakistan‘s tribal region of North Waziristan as a result of an ongoing military operation. They have taken refuge in southeastern Khost province.

Baryalai Rawan, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that more relief goods and aid would be distributed to the refugee by the Alokozy Company. Flour, sugar, oil, tents, blankets and other necessary items were provided to the refugees.

Bakht Noor Bakhtiar, the education director and in charge of aid distribution, said thousands of families had settled in Lakan and Shamal areas and they would also get relief once their registration was completed.

Haroon, director of refugee affairs, said his department was ready to distribute aid to the displaced households living in other districts of the province after completion of the survey.

Shoaib, a refugee, said he got some edible and non-edible stuff but he needed more because he had extended family.

Governor Abdul Jabbar Naeemi in a statement lauded the aid disbursed by some social association networks and businessmen and asked the well-off people to come forward and facilitate the refugees.
