30 militants killed in Waziristan raids

Pakistani news website DawnNews quoted security officials as saying the slain insurgents included two key commanders and several foreign fighters. The raids were carried out in Dattakhel area.

Two vehicles were also destroyed in the strikes. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the deaths of 17 suspected militants, many of them foreign fighters.

Elsewhere in the northwest, five insurgents were killed and six others wounded in a clash with security forces in the Akkakhel area of Tirah Valley. Both sides used heavy weapons during the exchange of fire.
