KABUL (Pajhwok): Two civilians were killed and two others, including a woman, wounded in a bomb blast in the heavily-fortified central capital Kabul on Tuesday morning, an official said.
Police spokesman Hashmatullah Stanikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that the magnetic bomb targeted a Corolla car in the Chehelsatoon neighbourhood of Kabul in the morning.
He said two civilians were killed and two others wounded in the bombing. One of the dead was the driver of a van that crashed into a roadside tree as a result of the bomb explosion.
“The target was the car carrying security officials, but it remains unclear to which organ the vehicle belonged,” Stanikzai said, adding an investigation into the incident was underway.
Eyewitnesses said a shop and two cars were destroyed in the blast. A resident, wishing unanimity, said that one van driver was killed and three others were critically wounded.
