MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): To know how common Afghans are yearning for peace, a public order policeman has been fasting since last three years for lasting peace and stability in the country.

Nizamuddin Frotan 35, is the resident of northern Baghlan province and has been serving in the 6th brigade of public order police in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of northern Balkh province.

In his earlier interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, he had said that he had started fasting for greater peace and elimination of corruption from Afghanistan.

“The government is not demonstrating sincerity for peace and stability in the country,” he said.

Pointing towards the Afghan flag pinned on his shoulder; he said if the top government officials served the country diligently by keeping their oath-taking in mind then all challenges could be tackled in shortest possible time.

However, he praised President Ashraf Ghani’s efforts for establishment of peace in the country.
