PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A policeman was killed and nine people, mostly children, were injured in a bomb blast in the Baghlan-i-Markazi district of northern Baghlan province on Monday.
A magnetic bomb placed inside a kiosk went off 10am, causing the casualties, the district’s administrative head, Gohar Khan Babari, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He gave no further details.
But a doctor in the district civil hospital, Wahid Sadiqi, said they had received nine injured people, including two police and seven children. The condition of two children is critical.
Shopkeeper Mohammad Aziz, giving an eyewitness account, said the blast was powerful and the kiosk destroyed. Up to 20 people were injured in the incident, he claimed.
