GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A sports border, on Thursday.
Governor Juma Khan Hamdard, public representatives, tribal elders and sportspeople attended the inaugural ceremony, an official told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Roohullah Samoon, the governor’s spokesman, said the German-funded project had cost 760,000 euros, or more than id=”mce_marker” million. Equipped with different facilities, the stadium has capacity for 9,000 people.
Hamdard told participants of the ceremony the project symbolised the strength of Afghan-German cooperation. He hoped relations between the two countries would further grow with time.
Asadullah Mukhlis, a sportsman from the district, said: “Previously, we had no proper stadium in Samkani. Now we can play different games here in a secure environment.”
