KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 10 people accused of different crimes including murder, vehicles number plates’ theft and trafficking illegal weapons and narcotics have been detained in the capital Kabul, security officials said Monday.

Kabul police spokesman Hashmatullah Stanikzai told Pajhwok Afghan News that the alleged criminals were arrested from the 10th, 17th and 4th police districts and in the northern region of Kabul city.

He said that four people involved in a murder case were detained from Pul-I-Charkhi area. Three others while stealing car plates were detained in Khairkhana and Shahr-i-Naw areas of the city, he said.

Two drug traffickers detained in the 17th police district along with 10 kilograms of narcotics.

Another man illegally carrying a pistol was captured in the 4th police district, Stanikzai said, adding the detainees were under investigation and their cases would be referred to the attorney general office after an investigation.

He said Kabul police would ensure security in the city. He noted that people’s support was vital to improve security in Kabul.
