JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Police on Thursday detained a dozen of shopkeepers for allegedly selling illegal weapons in eastern Nangarhar province.
Nangarhar police chief Brig. Gen. Fazl Ahmad Sherzad told Pajhwok Afghan News the salesmen were detained during an operation in the first police district of Jalalabad City, the provincial capital.
He said police confiscated 21 pistols and 130 fire guns from the shops.
“Most criminals purchase weapons from these shopkeepers to commit terrorist and illegal acts,” he said.
Sherzad warned police won’t allow anyone to illegally sell weapons and the offenders would be definitely punished.
