PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAJHWOK): Fifteen militants were killed, 10 injured and two others arrested during a clearing operation in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Tuesday.
An official of the 209th Shaheen Military Corps told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation launched on Monday morning to clear several areas of Baghlan district of militants.
Two army soldiers and two local policemen were killed and a third injured during the clash, said Lt. Col. Ziauddin, commander of third battalion.
But Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed killing 26 security personnel. He said Afghan Local Police Commander Baz Gul Shahi was among the dead.
