KABUL border, officials said on Sunday.

The military said the air raids were carried out on five militant hideouts in the Shawal area of North Waziristan Agency, currently the scene of a full-scale operation.

“In strikes last night [five] terrorists hideouts were destroyed and 15 terrorists including foreigners killed,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement

Another six fighters were killed early Sunday in a gunfight that erupted after an attack on a paramilitary checkpoint in the Ghundai area of Khyber Agency.

About 30 militants were involved in the early-morning assault, which was beaten back bt paramilitary troops, Dawn quoted a local official as saying

Codenamed Zarb-i-Azb, the military offensive was launched in Waziristan on June 15 following a brazen militant attack on Karachi’s international airport and failure of peace talks between the government and the Taliban.
