220,000 families to get winter aid: UNHCR

KABUL ahead of the fast-approaching winter season.

A statement from the UNHCR said on Tuesday that the campaign was part of a coordinated emergency preparedness programme to the harsh winter.

The UNHCR with its partners are set initiate the first distribution of winter assistance in Kabul where the world body would be joined by the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation and UN Refugee Agency for the most vulnerable returnees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as well as others at risk in the cold winter weather.
