KABUL (Pajhwok) Three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have gone missing during a training exercise at a Cape Cod military base in the United States, a media report said.

The soldiers were attending a US Central Command Regional Cooperation training exercise after their arrival at Camp Edwards on Sept. 11, according to the Associated Press.

Last seen at the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis, Maj. Jan Mohammad Arash, Capt. Mohammad Nasir Askarzada and Capt. Noorullah Aminyar were reported missing on Saturday night.

About a dozen Afghan soldiers are still participating in the exercise, which involves more than 200 participants from six nations including the US.

Such exercises have been going on for nearly 10 years, and are designed to promote cooperation and interoperability among the participating forces in the areas of building functional capacities, peacekeeping operations and enhancing overall readiness.
