KABUL (Pajhwok): A football stadium and two volleyball playgrounds have been put into service after their completion at a cost of two million afghanis in central Maidan Wardak province, an official said on Tuesday.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the playgrounds were constructed under the National Solidarity Programme in a period of six months.
Deputy Governor Zakir Hussain Sultani thanked the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Ministry and NSP officials for executing the projects. He urged local residents to look-after the sports facilities.
Construction work was launched on 36 playgrounds this solar year in Wardak and 10 of them have been completed so far.
