4 civilians injured in Mazar-i-Sharif blast

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Four civilians were wounded in a pre-noon explosion in the capital of northern Balkh province on Wednesday, an official said.

The bomb exploded in the Ibn-i-Sena Square northeast of the Hazrat Ali (RA) mausoleum at 11am, deputy police chief Col. Abdur Raziq told Pajhwok Afghan News. The injured include a woman, a man and a child.

But a source in Balkh Civil Hospital said four people had been brought to the hospital from the scene of the roadside bombing. Children and womeninfo-icon sell handicrafts in the area.

One eyewitness Samaduddin said the blast had resulted from explosives placed in a plastic ewer. A boy was selling plastic water vessels in the locality, he said, claiming several people were wounded.
