4 policemen wounded in Kandahar blast

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Four policemen were wounded in a bomb blast in southern Kandahar province, where the militants hanged a civilian, on Wednesday, an official said.

The roadside bomb exploded hit a Public Order Police vehicle on the Kandahar-Helmand highway in the Khak-i-Chopan area of Maiwand district this morning.

At least four police personnel were wounded, one of them seriously, in the explosion claimed by Talibaninfo-icon, the governor’s spokesman, Samim Khpalwak, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

In the same district, the spokesman claimed, the insurgents had hanged a civilian at the Rasul Neeka tomb in Shamir Kala area. But he gave no further details.

A shopkeeper in the area, Noor Ahmad, said the man was handed after being brought out of home. The lynching incident is currently under investigation.
