MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Five people, including three children, were killed in a car accident in northern Faryab province, an official said Sunday.
Col. Abdul Hakim Bakhtyar, director traffic department, told Pajhwok Afghan News five people including three children were killed when a corolla model car crashed with a track in Jangal area on Maimana-Andkhoi highway Sunday evening.
He said three others suffered injuries in the accident. The crash took place because of driver’s negligence, Bakhtyar said, adding the driver escaped after accident.
Director of civil hospital in Andkhoy district confirmed receiving bodies of five people including two children and three wounded.
Separately, director urban development had also been injured as a result of militant attack today morning.
Andkhoy district chief, Sultan Sanjar said the director was traveling from Maimana to Andkhoy when came under attack at around 9: 00 am.
The director, he said received injuries on his hand. An official of the district civil hospital said that the director received minor injuries who was under treatment.
