KABUL (Pajhwok): Six Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and 14 others wounded in a suicide attack in the Qasaba area of the capital Kabul on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.
A statement from MoD said the target of the bomber was an ANA vehicle. Kabul police spokesman Hashmatullah Stanikzai said three civilians were also wounded in the attack.
Abdul Zahir, an eyewitness, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion was so heavy that it jolted the area and he saw a number of the people injured in the attack.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said a suicide bomber targeted the ANA vehicle in the Tarakhel locality of Kabul, killing 13 soldiers and wounding 15 others.
About two months ago, seven ANA soldiers were killed and 17 others wounded in a similar attack in the same neighbourhood of the heavily-fortified city.
